What you can trust — and what to check yourself

FreshLife organizes information and suggests next steps, but it never dresses up uncertain recognition, estimates or AI content as fact. This page says plainly which parts are reliable and which are reference only.

Updated: September 25, 2026Each statement applies only to platforms offering that feature

Recognition and meal suggestions mainly describe the unreleased iOS version. See the platform guides for available Android, HarmonyOS and web features.

Wellbeing, with clear boundaries

FreshLife encourages self-care, activity suited to your abilities and thoughtful consumption. This outlook is not diagnosis, treatment, personalized medical advice or a guarantee of health outcomes. We do not promise weight loss, disease improvement or specific health metrics.

Rewards, giving and environmental claims

Points and redemption are not available. We do not sell points or accept public donations. Planned charitable support would be funded by the platform or partners. Any future public fundraising requires separate checks of eligible organizations, applicable channels and disclosure requirements. A participation record is not a donation receipt.

Walking, running and sorting records are not automatically carbon savings. ESG is a development direction, not a certification. Environmental figures need identified sources, methods and scope; unsupported carbon estimates will not be displayed.

Activity data is not connected. Before integration, purposes, permissions, retention and withdrawal will be explained. This page does not request health information. Explore the circularity plan and current progress.

Certain things are handled by local code

Date comparisons, quantity changes and duplicate merging are done by local code wherever possible. Expiry status, reminders and pantry counts come from your input and the system clock — not from a remote AI’s judgment.

AI suggests; it doesn’t execute

FreshLife AI gives suggestions, not automatic actions. Key pantry changes, meal completions and shopping confirmations go through the regular data flow and take effect only after you confirm. AI output cannot directly perform irreversible pantry operations.

More reliable information always wins

  • Packaging labels, product recalls and official information come before in-app estimates;
  • Check storage conditions and packaging; normal appearance or smell does not guarantee food safety;
  • Expiry dates and shelf life are management references, not a food-safety guarantee.

The boundaries of recognition and nutrition

Photo recognition, nutrition estimates and wellness trends are reference information. Allergens, nutrition values and calories come from general databases or recognition and may contain errors. For allergies, illness or important diet decisions, trust packaging and professional advice.

Failures won’t leave you stranded

When remote AI or recognition is unavailable, your local pantry, expiry reminders, shopping list and basic meal suggestions keep working. Failed recognition offers retry and manual entry paths — one failure never loses data you’ve already saved.

Remote AI data boundaries

The current version (1.0.0) does not enable remote AI. If it ships, it will be off by default; before enabling, the app will explain what information is processed and ask for your clear consent, sending only what’s needed for each request. Allergy information, health goals, profile details, AI memory, meal and shopping history and long-term behavior records are not part of any planned remote AI requests. No service-provider API keys are built into the app. If AI-generated content is ever provided, it will be labeled “AI-generated” in the interface.

Privacy & permissions

  • Core data lives on your device; no account needed;
  • No ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking;
  • Camera, photo and notification permissions are requested only when used; declining optional permissions doesn’t affect manual pantry management;
  • You can export, reset AI memory or delete all local data anytime.

One last thing

FreshLife is not for medical diagnosis or treatment. Health, nutrition and food-safety content is for everyday reference; when in doubt, consult a qualified professional.
