FreshLife · Waste reduction & circularity
Less waste.
A clearer next step.
Start with household food records, separate what remains, and connect delivery with documented processing. Every step should be useful and supported by evidence.
Web sorting guidance available · Android and HarmonyOS have local sorting records · Collection and rewards unavailable
This is a product and partnership plan, not registration or a drop-off notice. No collection site, date, redeemable benefit or ZENCE partnership has been announced.
Built around everyday use
A small next step after use.
Recovery would extend existing food and usage records. It stays optional; skipping it does not undo a completed food action.
Food used. Bottle recorded separately.
Record the milk used first. Add packaging only when an empty container actually exists. Milk volume is not bottle weight, and drinking half a bottle does not automatically create an empty one.
Packaging boundaries →Grounds are a normal residue.
Record grounds separately without deducting coffee inventory again. No scale is needed to log an event; any delivery still requires a future campaign’s acceptance conditions.
Coffee-ground conditions →Keep the record honest.
Keep the original disposal record and optionally review reasons such as overbuying or forgetting to use food. Entering a local food-waste channel does not turn discarded food into “no waste”.
Mixed-food-waste boundaries →Waste reduction & circularity · In design
A narrow scope. A clear destination.
FreshLife plans to connect food use, separated leftovers and material destinations. Android and HarmonyOS have a local sorting-record implementation; web and iOS updates add material guidance. Native updates remain subject to testing and store review. We do not currently accept materials, bookings, deliveries, collection requests or redeemable reward claims. Local records and official guidance come first; a physical pilot requires confirmed recipients and processing routes.
The planned app may record general disposal or an unknown destination. A record does not mean FreshLife accepts the material. The boundaries below concern the proposed physical pilot.
Separated tea leaves and coffee grounds
Explore these two streams at designated communities or shops. Acceptance depends on a processor’s stated composition, contamination, moisture and delivery requirements. Tea bags, filters, capsules and containers are not automatically included.
Food packaging accepted locally
Offer region-specific guidance for facilities that explicitly accept the material. Unknown, composite or contaminated packaging must not automatically be labelled recyclable. Separate containers, lids and contents as the facility requires.
Mixed food waste and hazardous items
Cooked leftovers, meat and bones, used oil, mixed rubbish, batteries, electronics, medicines, medical waste, chemicals and hazardous sharps are outside this pilot. Flowers, garden waste and other biomass are not included simply because they are organic. Use applicable local channels.
This is a proposed FreshLife service boundary, not a universal recycling rule. Every future campaign must publish an acceptance list. Ask about unlisted materials, do not discard edible food to participate, and do not send materials to FreshLife.
From growing to the next use: show the evidence.
This is the full path FreshLife aims to connect. Pantry, usage and sorting guidance work today. Origin data, sales partnerships and physical collection need real partners and records; a diagram is not proof they have happened.
As you read, the route advances. Movement, using food well, sorting and recovery each have a place; planned steps stay clearly marked.
Know where food comes fromGrowing & origin · partner needed- Growing & origin · partner needed
Know where food comes from
Producers would provide place, practices and batch evidence. Unknown information stays unknown; no unsupported organic or carbon claim.
- Making & packaging · partner needed
Design for the next use
Describe materials, layers and how to separate them. A recyclable label needs an actual receiving route.
- Selling & buying · not connected
Buy what is needed
Retailers would provide supported product facts. People can check their pantry first; rewards should never encourage extra purchases.
- Using · available now
Use food well. Move your way.
Record actual use and choose movement that suits your body. Sort packaging or scraps only when they exist; do not infer carbon savings from exercise.
- Sorting · guidance available
Search what is left
Consider contents, packaging and separate parts under local and receiving-facility rules.
- Receiving · future pilot
Confirm real handover
Only an open campaign can name materials, place and time. The recipient records eligible amounts and rejected items.
- Processing · future partner
Follow batch evidence
Document custody, treatment, outputs and residues. Report changes in route honestly.
- Feedback · evidence required
Explain the next chapter
Show only verified batch outcomes, then improve sourcing, packaging and buying. One handover is not an endless loop.
Walking or cycling can be part of everyday wellbeing when suitable for the person and situation; accessible indoor movement is another option. FreshLife does not turn a trip into an automatic carbon saving or health outcome. See the General Administration of Sport of China fitness guide explainer, or begin with a suitable small action in Everyday care.
What would the collected material become?
Eligible tea leaves or coffee grounds could be explored as inputs for regenerated materials, subject to a confirmed processor and specification. Other routes require their own acceptance and processing conditions. No particular item, product or complete recovery is guaranteed.
Each batch would show accepted weight, processor, actual route, material or product use, and the destination of unrecovered residues. Wet, dry and finished-product weights stay distinct. A handover alone is not proof of regeneration. Energy recovery, composting and material regeneration must be described separately.
Any future regenerated product should disclose traceable source material, verifiable content, intended use and its next disposal route. Claims such as suitability for food contact require separate verification. Buying a product would not be required to receive a recovery benefit.
How should participants be rewarded?
Useful feedback first; funded benefits later. Local records would provide personal progress and sorting reviews, with no redeemable points for self-reported check-ins. A partner-funded pilot could offer specified coupons or small gifts. There is no promise of cash returns, stored value, carbon credits or appreciating points.
Proposed flow: recipient-confirmed eligible delivery → verification → settlement. Each receipt settles once. Apply per-person limits within a published participation period and a total campaign budget, instead of unlimited rewards by weight. Correctly sorted small contributions should have reasonable eligibility conditions; splitting loads, adding water or producing more waste must not be encouraged.
Before opening, publish eligibility, materials, minimum conditions, settlement time, benefit quantities, claim process, expiry, redemption stock, any spending conditions and dispute support. Without funded, deliverable benefits, redeemable incentives stay closed.
How would duplicate or incorrect claims be handled?
Use a unique receipt, a versioned campaign rule and the minimum participation identifier needed to detect duplicates. Exclude container weight and rejected contamination. A user-entered quantity, photo or location alone is not recipient confirmation. Recovery must not erase the original food-waste record.
Duplicates, unusual load splitting and disputed handovers go to human review, not an automatic accusation of fraud. Show pending states and reasons, allow supporting information and appeals, and explain corrections to issued benefits without creating an unagreed cash debt.
What happens if collection or processing fails?
Pause new delivery prompts before capacity is exhausted. Explain rejection and suitable next steps; rejected material is not counted as collected. If accepted material is delayed, rerouted or cannot be regenerated, report its actual state and final destination.
Benefits follow the campaign’s pre-published eligible-delivery conditions. A downstream partner failure should not retroactively make a participant’s eligible delivery ineligible. Closing a campaign must explain deadlines, accepted batches and outstanding benefits.
Who would collect it and pay for it?
Proposed responsibilities: FreshLife provides records, rules and status feedback; collection points inspect and issue receipts; transport and processing partners document custody and treatment; sponsors fund published benefits. Actual partners, responsibilities and applicable conditions must be confirmed before opening.
There is no confirmed FreshLife collection network or processing partnership. The first stage focuses on local features without a paid recovery service. A physical pilot requires a funded plan for collection, transport, processing, exceptions and benefits. If the budget is missing, it does not open.
What data would be needed, and when is launch?
Planned local records remain user-managed, without precise location by default. Any future online verification or identity link must explain minimum data, recipients, retention and deletion before users choose to participate. Complete household inventories would not be shared with processors.
Web, iOS, Android and HarmonyOS share quantity and sorting guidance. Android and HarmonyOS have local sorting records; check the actual installed version for available features. Collection and points require separate partner, funding and operating validation. No pilot date, location or redemption offer is announced.
Regional reference: the Hong Kong EPD food-waste recycling schemes describe local collection and treatment. This does not imply FreshLife participation or that these arrangements apply elsewhere. Checked 11 September 2026.
Make each state meaningful
Handed over is not regenerated.
Personal records, recipient receipts and batch outcomes would remain distinct. Missing evidence stays unknown instead of becoming a green success tick.
Pending / self-reported delivery
A user-confirmed record for personal organization. It is not a partner receipt and does not create redeemable benefits.
Accepted / partly accepted / rejected
Recipient evidence includes the material, eligible quantity, time and unique receipt. Corrections, review and disputes remain possible.
Transferred / processing / verified result
Batch handovers and processing evidence determine the result. Missing information, delays and route changes are reported separately.
Illustrative fields · Not actual recovery data
What should participants be able to see?
The batch, recipient, processor, route, outputs and unrecovered residues. A shared batch does not prove that one person’s cup of coffee became a particular product.

Clear stages, checkable progress.
Make everyday sorting useful
Android and HarmonyOS offer local sorting records, while the web app offers guidance. Guidance is not physical collection.
Connect local features
Android and HarmonyOS have local sorting records; web and iOS add guidance in this update. Verify backup compatibility, recovery, accessibility and devices before announcing further updates.
A bounded local pilot
Confirm materials, sites, logistics, processing, costs and benefit rules before opening. Review sorting quality and actual cost before expanding.
Before you participate.
Can I register, send materials or claim points now?
No. This is a design and partnership exploration. There are no FreshLife drop-off points, registration, shipping services or redeemable points. Continue to follow existing local guidance.
What if I have no scale or smart recycling device?
The planned local record can leave weight unknown and log one event. If a pilot requires measured quantities, the recipient should measure under published rules. Users should not need to guess or buy specialist equipment.
Will I need an account?
Planned local records do not require registration. A future benefit campaign must separately explain any necessary participation identifier and data use. Declining participation will not block local food management.
What if there is no suitable collection point nearby?
Preventing overbuying, using food in time and sorting correctly remain useful. Follow local disposal requirements rather than travelling long distances, stockpiling or buying extra items merely to log participation.
How does this relate to the planned membership card?
A future membership could link eligible campaign benefits, but cards, points and the store are not available. Recovery records do not create spendable balances, and a card alone would not make a material eligible. Each campaign needs its own scope and rules.
