FRESHLIFE · EVERYDAY
Take care of today,
starting with what you have.
Keep track of food, use what is already there, plan a meal, go for a walk, and find a sensible way to handle what is left. FreshLife brings these small choices together so caring for yourself feels easier.
The web beta is available. Published Android and native HarmonyOS versions have their own guides below. The iOS app is being prepared for release. Features differ by platform and version.
A gentler daily path
Start with what matters today.
Begin at any step. You never need to do all four in a day.
- 01
See what is there
Record food, quantities and dates. When there is more than one item, review them before saving together.
- 02
Use what you need
Notice what needs attention. Confirm one or several finished items so the pantry reflects real life.
- 03
Restock thoughtfully
The shopping list is a reminder. What to buy, and how much, stays your choice.
- 04
Finish with care
Check the actual scraps and packaging against local rules. FreshLife physical collection is not open.
There is more to life than a pantry. Explore everyday care or see the community we hope to build. Events and physical collection are still being planned.
The web beta records food. While adding, you can use package-label values to estimate energy, fiber and a meal total; the scratchpad is not saved. Daily care prompts only while the page is open. Android and HarmonyOS development builds let you choose a food group and filter your pantry. Unreleased iOS and Android builds include user-authored local reminders. Check each store release for its actual features.
Put what you check first at the top. The web beta and three native development builds let you arrange home sections, choose a theme color, and adjust navigation background opacity. Preferences stay on this device. Try the web app →
Pantry & expiry reminders
What you have, and when it runs out — at a glance.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
Keep what you have, where it lives and when it expires in one place. A gentle nudge before the date helps prevent duplicate buys and food being forgotten.
How to use it
- Add food by photo, album, QR scan or by typing;
- Items are grouped automatically into “Fresh / Expiring / Expired”;
- iOS local notifications remind you before the date — lead time is yours to adjust;
- Log used, tossed, donated or frozen in one tap, and your pantry stays current.
What to watch for
Expiry dates come from your entry, packaging or recognition — they’re a management reference. Check packaging and storage conditions; normal appearance or smell does not guarantee food safety.
Current status
The unreleased iOS 1.0.0 development build includes pantry management, expiry grouping and local reminders. These run on your device without a network.
Four ways to add food
Snap, pick, scan or type — your call.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
Want it quick? Snap a photo. Want it exact? Type it. Choose whichever of the four methods fits the moment.
How to use it
- Snap a photo: on-device Apple Vision tries to read the name, category and date;
- Pick from your library: recognize a photo you’ve already taken and add it;
- Scan a QR code: scan a FreshLife food QR code to bring the item in quickly;
- Type it yourself: enter name, quantity, spot and expiry date — most reliable, most flexible.
What to watch for
Recognition is a suggestion: when it isn’t sure, the app asks you to check. Camera and photo permissions are requested only when used, and refusing them doesn’t stop manual entry. Retail barcode lookup isn’t available in this version.
Current status
The unreleased iOS development build includes all four methods. Camera and photo-library recognition run on your device — no API key or network needed.
Meals & cooking
See what you can cook with what’s on hand.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
Answer “what’s for dinner”: meal ideas built from your current and expiring ingredients, expiring items first — with step-by-step timers while you cook.
How to use it
- Generate local meal plans on the Meals screen — works offline;
- Missing ingredients are flagged and can go straight to your shopping list;
- Pick a plan and enter cooking mode with step-by-step timers;
- Finishing a meal consumes its ingredients, so your records stay consistent.
What to watch for
Meal ideas are inspiration, not medical or nutritional prescriptions. The native apps do not yet include a verified official food composition database. Check packaging and professional advice for allergies and special diets.
Current status
The unreleased iOS development build includes local meal planning and cooking mode; suggestions are computed on-device, no network needed.
Shopping list
Everything missing, in one list.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
When your pantry runs low or a recipe is missing something, FreshLife suggests a restock — easier to check while shopping, fewer forgotten items and fewer double buys.
How to use it
- Open the shopping list from Explore to see restock suggestions;
- Tick what you bought and the list tidies itself;
- When you’re home, add the new items by photo or by hand — the loop closes.
What to watch for
Restock suggestions come from your pantry data and are references, not orders — what and how much to buy is always your call. The list lives on your device.
Current status
The unreleased iOS development build includes the shopping list and restock suggestions.
iPhone & iPad
Quick to log on iPhone, easy to plan on iPad.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
FreshLife fits both iPhone and iPad: quick logging on your phone, wide-layout reviewing and planning on your iPad. No account needed.
How to use it
- iPhone: five bottom tabs keep logging and reminders at hand;
- iPad: a sidebar switches quickly between Today, Pantry, Meals, Explore and Profile;
- Both devices share the same information structure; data is stored on each device separately.
What to watch for
The iOS development build has no cloud sync — data doesn’t move between devices on its own. Multi-device sync is a “Planned” capability.
Current status
The universal iPhone and iPad app is in the unreleased development build; cloud sync and accounts are planned, not shipped.
Privacy & data control
Data stays on your device; export or delete anytime.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
Pantry, preferences and other core data live only on your device. No account, no ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking — and you can export or delete at any time.
How to use it
- Profile → Privacy Center: export text data, reset AI memory, or delete all local data;
- Camera, photo and notification permissions are requested only when used, with an explanation;
- You can change any permission later in iOS Settings.
What to watch for
Deleted local data may not be recoverable; uninstalling the app removes the data in its sandbox. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Current status
The unreleased iOS development build includes local storage, export and deletion. Remote AI isn’t enabled yet; if it ships, it stays off by default and needs your clear consent.
FreshLife AI
On-device in the iOS development build; remote AI not enabled.
iOS development build · not releasedWhat it helps with
Recognize ingredients and suggest meals from what is already in your pantry. AI only recognizes and suggests — it never changes your pantry on its own.
How to use it
- On-device recognition: photos and album recognition use Apple Vision on your device;
- Local suggestions: meal ideas are computed locally from your pantry and work offline;
- Remote AI: if it ships later, it will be off by default, switched on by you, with clear consent and only the minimum sent for each request.
What to watch for
AI suggestions are reference only — not medical advice. Recognition and nutrition data can be off; for important decisions, trust packaging and professionals. Any AI-generated content, if offered in the future, will be labeled “AI-generated” in the interface.
Current status
The unreleased iOS 1.0.0 development build includes on-device recognition and local suggestions; the remote AI assistant isn’t enabled and is a planned, optional capability. Recognition results, meal plans and shopping changes all take effect only after you confirm them.
Launch status
Android and native HarmonyOS are available on Huawei AppGallery, and the web app is open now. The detailed demos above mainly describe the unreleased iOS version. Check your platform’s guide for available features and installation.
